titleOfInvention Lighting elements, devices and methods
abstract An organic semiconductor, charge transporting or light emitting polymer may be formed by photopolymerization of one or more photoreactive materials that are substituted with a mixture of electron donating and electron accepting crosslinking groups. Suitable electron donating groups include vinyl and alkylvinyl ethers. Suitable electron accepting groups include maleimides, fumarates, and maleates. The luminescent efficiencies of light emitting polymers produced from polymerizable materials may be increased by including fused ring diradicals in the polymerizable material molecular cores. Suitable diradicals include indeno(1,2-b)fluorenes, diindeno[1,2-b:2',1ā€™-h]fluorenes, difluoreno[2,3-a:3',2'-g]-s-indacenes, fluoreno(2,1-a)fluorenes, diindeno[2,1-h;l',2'-h']fluoreno(2,1-a)fluorenes, fluoreno(3,2-b)fluorenes, indeno(2,l-h)fluoreno(3,2-b)fluorenes, diindeno[2,l-h:2',l'-h']fluoreno(3,2-b)fluorenes, difluoreno[2,l-a:lā€™,2'-i]fluorenes, imidazo(4,5-d)imidazoles, oxazolo(5,4-d)oxazoles, thiazolo(5,4-d)thiazoles, thiazolo(5,4-d)oxazoles, oxazolo(4,5-d)oxazoles, thiazolo(4,5-d)thiazoles, and thiazolo(4,5-d)oxazoles.
