titleOfInvention | Apparatus for measuring biological data |
abstract | An apparatus for measuring biological data by which a prominence of a tendon formed in bending a wrist or a finger can be inhibited and which closely adheres to arteries and enables accurate measurement of biological data. A cuff (2) comprises a fluid bag for compression (18), which is provided for detecting pulse wave signals and can be inflated and stretched by supplying a fluid, and two auxiliary fluid bags (19, 20) which are located outside the fluid bag for compression (18) and can be inflated and stretched by supplying a fluid. The auxiliary fluid bags (19, 20), each having a double layer structure, are connected to the fluid bag for compression (18) via openings (21). On the other hand, the auxiliary fluid bags (19, 20) are separated from each other. The fluid bag for compression (18) compresses a tendon (14), the radial artery (10) and the ulnar artery (11), while the auxiliary fluid bag (19) compresses the radial artery (10) and the auxiliary fluid bag (20) compresses the ulnar artery (11). Thus, a prominence of the tendon (14) formed in bending the wrist (5) or a finger can be inhibited and, therefore, the adhesion of the fluid bag for compression (18) and the auxiliary fluid bags (19, 20) to the wrist (5) is not inhibited. |
