titleOfInvention AQUEOUS POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE MULSION AND FINE POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE POWDER AND POROUS MATERIAL PRODUCED THEREOF
abstract Disclosed is an aqueous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) emulsion which is substantially free from ammonium perfluorooctanoate and can be produced by emulsion polymerization. Also disclosed are a PTFE fine powder and a porous material which can be produced from the aqueous PTFE emulsion and are excellent in paste extrusion molding property. The aqueous PTFE emulsion can be produced by performing emulsion polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene alone or together with other monomer capable of copolymerizing with tetrafluoroethylene in an aqueous medium, wherein a fluorinated emulsifying agent represented by the general formula (1): XCF2CF2(O)mCF2CF2OCF2COOA (wherein X represents a hydrogen or fluorine atom; A represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or NH4; and m represents an integer of 0 to 1) is used in an amount of 1500 to 20000 ppm relative to the final yield of PTFE.
