abstract | It is intended to provide a stent to be placed in the living body which shows a low restenosis rate after being placed in the body. A stent to be placed in the living body characterized in that the stent is in a long and thin almost tubular shape having both termini and provided with voids, the long and thin almost tubular body can be extended in the radial direction from the first diameter in the compressed state to the second diameter in the extended state, the strut section of the stent is in an almost square or rectangular shape, the whole surface of the stent has an outer surface, an inner surface and a side surface, and the side surface area corresponding to the area of the side surface is not more than 40% of the whole surface area corresponding to the area of the whole surface of the stent. |
