abstract The invention relates to a thermoplastic welding rod for joining or welding flexible sheet materials such as floor or wall coverings, particularly linoleum floor or wall coverings, which contains at least one polymer based on an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and contains at least one wax. The welding rod can optionally comprise shellac or a coating based on at least one hot-melt adhesive. The welding rod has a high melt-flow index and a very low dirt pickup.
