titleOfInvention | Plasma lamp with means to generate in its bulb a resonant ultrasound wave |
abstract | The invention relates to a plasma lamp (40) having a bulb (11) and a high-voltage DC supply (12), connected to the mains (13), for supplying a magnetron (14). This is coupled to a microwave resonator (15). The bulb (11) of the lamp (40) is arranged in the field of the microwave resonator (15). A modulator (31) is coupled to the DC high voltage (12) via a high isolation transformer (41 or 42) which is placed either directly on the magnetron power supply line (14) or on a capacitive bypass (43) in parallel with a high value safety resistor (44). The microwave electromagnetic flux injected by the magnetron (14) into the microwave resonator (15) is modulated so as to generate an ultrasonic vibration of the plasma, which generates an ultrasonic resonant wave in the bulb (11). If the cathode of the magnetron (14) requires heating, a noise filter (21) is connected upstream of it to avoid interference with the electrical sector (13). |
