Summary: The invention relates to a composite or a composite membrane made of an ionomer and an inorganic optionally functionalized sheet silicate. The ionomer may be: (a) a cation exchange polymer; (b) an anion exchange polymer; (c) a polymer containing on the polymer chain both anion exchange moieties and cation exchange moieties: (d) a blend of (a) and (b) wherein the mixing ratio can range from 100% (a) to 100% (b). The blend can be ionic and covalently crosslinked. In this case, the inorganic component can be selected from the group of layer or framework silicates. Generally, bentonites and zeolites, especially montmorillonite, are preferred. The mixing ratio ionomer / bentonite ranges from 99/1 to 30/70. Furthermore, the subject of this invention is the use of composites / composite membranes: as Protoncnleitor in membrane fuel cells (H 2 -Bronnstoffzellen PEFC, direct methanol fuel cells DMFC) in the temperature range above 100 ° C; in (electro) membrane separation processes such as dialysis, diffusion dialysis, gas separation, fervaporation, perstraction and in micro- and ultrafiltration, in particular because of their antifouling properties: as catalytic membranes in catalyst-membrane reactors. |
