Disclosed are a compound capable of promoting or inhibiting the activity of a protein having the same or substantially the same amino acid sequence as that depicted in SEQ ID NO:1 or a salt of the compound; a compound capable of promoting or inhibiting the expression of the gene for the protein or a salt of the compound; an antisense polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence complementary or substantially complementary to a nucleotide sequence of a polynucleotide encoding the protein or a partial peptide thereof or comprising a part of the nucleotide sequence; an antibody directed against the protein; and the like. The compound or salt thereof, antisense nucleotide, antibody or the like can be used as a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for a mental disease, a prolactin-related disease or the like. |
