titleOfInvention APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GASES
abstract Even in vehicles of such a travel mode that the state of driving at low exhaust gas temperature continues, an excellent NOx decreasing effect can be attained at exhaust gas temperatures lower than in the prior art. There is provided an exhaust purification apparatus having selective reduction type catalyst (10) disposed along the path of exhaust pipe (9) and arranged so as to charge ammonia upstream of the selective reduction type catalyst (10) to thereby accomplish NOx reduction purification, which exhaust purification apparatus comprises ammonia generation unit (12) fitted with container (15) for accommodating urea water (23a) and electrode (16) for application of plasma to the urea water (23a) of the container to thereby generate ammonia (13a,13b) and is adapted to feed the ammonia (13a,13b) generated by the ammonia generation unit (12) to the upstream side of the selective reduction type catalyst (10).
