titleOfInvention Use of fatty alcohol polyglycol ether sulfates for emulsion polymerisation
abstract The invention relates to compositions, which can be obtained by reacting a mixture of a) between 20 and 80 wt. % of one or more fatty alcohols comprising between 8 and 22 C atoms and b) between 20 and 80 wt. % of one or more ring-opening products of 1,2 epoxy alkanes comprising between 8 and 18 C atoms and containing ethylene glycol with ethylene oxide, with the proviso that the quantity of the ethylene oxide is between 5 and 100 mol in relation to one mol of the free OH groups that are included in the sum of the compounds a) and b). The intermediate product thus obtained is subsequently sulfated. Said compositions are suitable for use as emulsifiers in emulsion polymerisation.
