abstract |
Biodegradable hemostatic compositions are provided including nucleic acids. The nucleic acids may be obtained from plant sources, animal sources, or combinations thereof, or they may be synthetic. The hemostatic compositions of the present disclosure are non-inflammatory, and are degraded in an animal's body after successfully re-establishing hemostasis of a tissue site. Methods for utilizing such compositions are also provided. |
