titleOfInvention Method for fine cleaning of 1-buten flows
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of less than 2000 ppm isobutene with respect to 1-butene containing 1-butene-containing fractions from technical mixtures of C 4 hydrocarbons I, the at least 1-butene and 2000 wppm to 8 mass% isobutene based on the 1-butene and optionally n-butane, isobutane and / or 2-butenes characterized by the method steps a) reacting at least a portion of the isobutene present in the technical mixture I with ethanol in a reaction zone or a series of at least two reaction zones connected in series in the presence of an acidic catalyst to give ethyl tert-butyl ether, b) transfer of the reactor effluent II of the last reactor of the series into a thermal separation, in which an ethyl tert-butyl ether-containing fraction III and a fraction IV is obtained, which has 1-butene and ethanol and c) separating the ethanol from fraction IV to obtain a 1-butene-containing fraction V, and optionally d) separation of optionally contained in the fraction IV C 4 hydrocarbons, which are not 1-butene or isobutene, in at least one further separation step to obtain a 1-butene-containing fraction VI wherein the reaction in the first reaction zone in step a) is carried out with at least a three-fold molar excess of ethanol with respect to the isobutene contained in mixture I.
