Using a combination of at least one indoline derivative of the formula (I) or its physiologically acceptable salt, wherein R 1 is hydrogen, a (C 1 - to C 4 ) -alkyl group or a (C 1 - to C 4 ) -hydroxyalkyl group, R 2 is hydrogen or a -COOH group, where the -COOH group may also be present as a salt with a physiologically compatible cation, R 3 is hydrogen or a (C 1 to C 4 ) alkyl group, R 4 is hydrogen, a (C 1 to C 4 ) alkyl group or a (C 2 to C 5 ) acyl group, and R 5 is one of the groups mentioned under R 4 , and at least one phenylalanine derivative according to formula (II) or its physiologically acceptable salt, wherein R 7 and R 8 are each independently a hydroxy group, a (C 1 - to C 4 ) alkoxy, an amino group which may optionally be substituted, can be prepared biomimetic melanin pigments.n n n The method described in the o.g. Combination producible pigments are suitable for use in cosmetics, especially as a color-modifying or UV-light protection component. |
