titleOfInvention Pneumatic tire with an asymmetrical bead reinforcing ply
abstract A pneumatic radial tire has a carcass and a tread (10). The carcass has at least one carcass reinforcing ply (12) and opposing bead portions (14). Each bead portion (140 has a bead core (22) and a bead apex (24). The bead apexes (24) in each bead portion have the same radial height (HA), as measured from a bead base line (B). The tire has a bead reinforcing ply (26), preferably comprising chopped carbon fiber in the amount of 0.5 to 30 parts per hundred rubber, located in only one bead portion (14) of the tire, with the bead reinforcing ply (26) being adjacent to the carcass reinforcing ply (12).
