abstract The present invention relates to the modulation of the immune response in human beings. In greater detail, the present invention relates to the medical use of ILT6 for modulating the immune response, as well as to pharmaceutical compositions containing ILT6. In a further aspect, the present invention relates to the medical treatment of human beings using ILT6 to modulate their immune response, for example directed against heterologous and/or autologous antigen. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the analysis ILT6 for diagnostic purposes and to diagnostic compositions that can be employed for that analysis.
