A method of making a lithographic printing plate comprising the steps of: n(a) providing a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising n(i) a support having a hydrophilic surface or which is provided with a hydrophilic layer, and n(ii) a coating provided thereon, n nwherein said coating comprises a photopolymerizable layer and, optionally, an intermediate layer between the photopolymerizable layer and the support, nwherein said photopolymerizable layer comprises a polymerizable compound, a polymerization initiator and a partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate, and nwherein an adhesion promoting compound is present in the intermediate layer or in the photopolymerizable layer, nwherein said adhesion promoting compound is a compound capable of interacting with said support, n(b) image-wise exposing said precursor, n(c) optionally, heating the precursor in a preheating unit, n(d) mounting the exposed precursor on a plate cylinder of a lithographic printing press, n(e) developing by rotating the plate cylinder while feeding dampening liquid and/or ink to the coating, thereby removing non-exposed areas of the coating, n ncharacterised in that said polyvinyl acetate has a hydrolysis degree of less than 60 mol%. |
