abstract The present invention is directed to a method for defining an antetorsion angle γ of a human femur, said antetorsion angle γ being defined by two angles α and β which can be determined by means of two images of the human femur, by taking the two images such that a co-ordinate system can be assembled, such that an equation can be used to calculate the antetorsion angle γ, wherein said equation reads as follows: tan γ = tan α / (cos β · cos γ).
