titleOfInvention | Method for the simultaneous detection and identification of different animal or plant species in a sample of organic material |
abstract | The invention relates to a method of simultaneously detecting the presence of different animal or plant species belonging to a given plant or animal taxonomic group in a sample of organic material, said group comprising at least 40, preferably at least 50 and advantageously at least 70 different species, and selecting the species that may be present. The inventive method comprises the following successive steps consisting in: a) extracting DNA from the sample; b) amplifying the extracted DNA, using polymerase chain amplification (PCR) with at least one pair of primers common to all the animal or plant species belonging to the given taxonomic group; c) bringing the amplification product into contact with a group of probes specific to each animal or plant species belonging to the given plant or animal taxonomic group; and d) detecting the formation of hybridisation complexes or absence thereof. |
