abstract Method for producing a polypeptide which is modified with an organic group comprises covalent bonding of a bioactive polypeptide to an organic group comprising a backbone structure with aromatic side chains, forming a modified polypeptide, and at least one of the aromatic side chains of the group is subjected to chemical or enzymatic hydroxylation. Independent claims are also included for: (a) new modified peptide prepared as above; (b) a substrate modified with a peptide as above, bonded (non)covalently or immobilized thereon; (c) an implant formed of the modified substrate; (d) use of the claimed peptides in an analytical procedure for detection of immunoglobulins or cell receptors; and (e) use of the claimed peptides in an affinity chromatography procedure.
