Plasticizer-containing film (I) based on partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohols, comprises: partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohol (60-85 wt.%); plasticizer (14-35 wt.%) with a low polarity; and co-plasticizer (1-20 wt.%) of carbonyl compounds (B) and (C) of formulae (R 1>-O(-R 2>-O) n-CO-R 5>) and (R 1>-O(-R 2>-O) n-CO-R 3>-CO-(O-R 4>-) mO-R 6>) respectively. R 1>, R 5>, R 6>H, 1-12C aliphatic or aromatic radical; R 3>direct bond or divalent aliphatic or aromatic radical having up to 12 C; R 2>,R 4>a divalent aliphatic or aromatic radical having up to 12 C; and n, m : 1-10. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a composition comprising (I); (2) a composite safety glass comprising at least one glass pane and at least one film adjacent to the glass pane; and (3) a process for increasing the compatibility of a plasticizer with a low polarity in partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohol comprising, combining the plasticizer with low polarity, a partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohol and one or more co-plasticizer of carbonyl compounds (B) and (C).
