abstract The invention relates to a method for control of a bi-level device. The method comprises repeated measurement of an airflow (1), selection of an expiration threshold (3) and selection of an inspiration threshold (4). The method is switched to an inspiration mode when the airflow is greater than the expiration threshold on a comparison with the expiration threshold and switched back to an expiration mode when the airflow is less than the inspiration threshold on a comparison with the inspiration threshold. The invention further relates to a bi-level device for carrying out said method.
