abstract |
Surgical apparatus for generating microwave radiation to treat biological tissue. The apparatus (100) comprises a microwave radiation source (1) which provide microwave radiation to a probe (5) which is configured to direct it into tissue. The apparatus includes a modulator (1100) which has an OFF state where no modulation occurs, and an ON state in which the microwave radiation is modulated. Modulation frequency is chosen such that the modulated radiation is suitable for cutting biological tissue. The apparatus may further comprise a filter (1120) which filters out the microwave radiation frequency. |
