abstract A method and a system are disclosed that make it possible to select and present colors based on a semantic search thus making the color selection process more human-compatible. A word-based search mechanism makes it easier to translate a designer's inspiration to color selection. The colors selected by using the semantic color search engine have numeric color information associated with them. This enables use of the results by design software and color software used in production processes.
