abstract The invention relates to a method and an assisted ventilation respiratory protection device (1) for controlling (19) the efficiency of filters (2), positive pressure (10) and tightness of a facial piece (22) by peripheral internal sampling (22.4) of a total (9.3, 9) or partial (9.8, 18) air return which is totally exhausted in the atmosphere on the entire device, the air supplied to (8) said facial piece and removed therefrom (9) by a turbine (5), the assisted filter and/or joints replacement during the use of the device by means of the permanent internal turns round part of an air filter (6) and appropriate devices (4, 3.1, 3.10) associated with permanent protection. The filtered air is sampled at the output (8.1) of the turbine or at the full (9.1) or partial (9.2) return towards selecting means (13) for selecting rate measurement means (16, 14), pressure measurement means (12), means for measurement of relatively humid substances (15) between the initial state at the exit from filters and the motion thereof during use and between an exit from filters and the full or partial return. The real efficiency of filters using said method and device corresponds to the efficiency determined by simulation of comparable situations on a test bench.
