Polypeptide having amidase activity and gene thereof |
abstract |
It is intended to provide a novel amidase which is useful in producing an optically active amino acid, in particular, a D-amino acid and a process for producing the same. Namely, a novel D-amidase isolated and purified from Arthrobacter sp. KNK1101J strain; a gene encoding this amidase, a recombinant plasmid containing this gene; a transformant having the amidase gene transferred thereinto; and a process for producing the amidase which comprises culturing Arthrobacter sp. KNK1101J strain or the above-described transformant and then harvesting the amidase. |
