A bottled beverage which contains a green-tea extractable, the beverage containing the following ingredients (A), (B), and (C): (A) nonpolymerized catechin and analogues thereof 0.01 to 1.0 wt.% (B) oxalic acid or a salt thereof (C) caffeine the ratio of the content of oxalic acid or its salt (B) to that of nonpolymerized catechin and its analogues (A), [(B)/(A)], being from 0.00005 to 0.1 by weight and the ratio of the content of nonpolymerized catechin and its analogues (A) to that of caffeine (C), [(A)/(C)], being from 5 to 10,000 by weight. The bottled beverage contains catechin and its analogues in a high concentration and is reduced in bitterness and astringency. It is drinkable for long. It is excellent in the stability of bitterness and astringency and gives a good feeling during drinking. Even when packed into a transparent container and stored at high temperatures, the beverage stably retains its color tone for long. |
