abstract The invention relates to a sunflower oil directly obtained from sunflower seeds with at least 12 % of stearic acid referred to the total fatty acid content, characterized in that the distribution coefficient of saturated fatty acids α between positions sn-1 and sn-3 is at least 0.38 and to a sunflower oil directly obtained from sunflower seeds with at least 12 % of stearic acid referred to the total fatty acid content, characterized in that the distribution coefficient of saturated fatty acids α between positions sn-1 and sn-3 is at least 0.28 when the oleic acid content is higher than the linoleic acid content in the oil. The invention also relates to the plants and seeds for producing the oil and to its use.
