The present invention also relates to carvedilol free base, salts, anhydrous forms, or solvates thereof, corresponding pharmaceutical compositions or controlled release formulations, and methods delivery of carvedilol forms to the lower gastrointestingal tract or methods to treat cardiovascular diseases, which may include, but are not limited to hypertension, congestive heart failure, and angina.
