titleOfInvention Phenylpropanoic derivatives and compositions containing same, which stimulate libido and the associated physiological mechanisms
abstract The invention relates to a compound having general formula (I), wherein: R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6, which may be identical or different, represent independently of each other a hydroxyl group, a hydrogen atom or radical -OR7 or -OCOR7, in which R7 represents an alkyl group at C1-C30, preferably at C1-C6; and R1 represents a radical having formula (II), wherein R8 represents a hydroxyl group or radical -OCOR9 in which R9 represents an alkyl group at C1-C6, preferably at C1-C3, or a radical group having formula (III), wherein R10 represents a group CH2OH, COOH, or a radical -CH2OR11 or -CH2OCOR11 in which R11 represents a linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl group at C1-C30, preferably at C1-C30, optionally substituted by a phenyl group, said phenyl group being optionally substituted by one or more groups that are selected from the group containing a hydroxyl group, radical -OR12 or radical -OCOR12, in which R12 represents an alkyl group at C1-C30, preferably at C1-C6. More specifically, the invention relates to the use of said compound for the production of a medicament that is intended to increase the amount of testosterone in the blood, to treat sexual dysfunctions in humans, to improve human sexual function, to treat sexual problems among men and women, to increase muscle mass, to treat impotence or to be used as an erectogenic agent. The invention further relates to a cosmetic composition, a food supplement containing a compound having general formula (I) and to the use thereof as an aphrodisiac.
