Kringle domains in a calcium sensor fusion protein |
abstract |
The present invention relates to the use of kringle domains in a sensor fusion protein, designed to measure the concentration of Ca 2+ ions in the ER or together with a proper chaperone complex in samples ex vivo. The sensor protein is capable to measure the Ca 2+ concentration indirectly thus avoiding the side-effect of affecting Ca 2+ related metabolisms in a cell or cell compartment. This improves applications directed at observations of Ca 2+ dependent processes in vivo. |
