| abstract |
Previously known instruments, particularly probes, for coagulating tissue are embodied so as to deliver argon gas into a space between an electrode located within the probe and the tissue. In some cases, the aim is to coagulate tissue that is placed next to the orifice of the probe. Disclosed is an arrangement in which a distal end of the electrode protrudes from the gas-delivering device or the probe. A conducting device used for directing and conducting the gas or plasma is disposed at said distal end of the electrode such that at least some of the flowing gas or plasma is deflected in the predetermined direction. |
