abstract | The screen includes at least one expanded metal mesh (2) covered by a film of titanium dioxide largely in anatase form, to maximize the area of photocatalyst illuminated by UVA light. The external metallic structure is steel having an internal surface covered with a thin layer of reflectivity exceeding 90% for wavelengths below 400 nm. It is bright-annealed stainless steel. The front face (10) is 1.5 m or more wide, preferably 2 m. Inlet and outlet openings for air (11, 12) are equal slots, their width being slightly less than that of the front face, with heights exceeding 3 cm, preferably 5 cm. They are 10 cm, preferably 5 cm from the upper and lower ends. The entire surface of the mesh is covered with titanium dioxide, excluding surfaces of the mesh thickness (formulae for calculating areas are provided). The grid is fastened vertically at its periphery. UVA lamps are disposed in threes over the width of the wall. The fan (5) is a 90[deg] tangential type, located high in the wall, the number of fans being selected for air replacement of at least 30 m 3>/h/person in the room. A part-cylindrical variant is also described. An independent claim is included for the method of designing the air purifier, in particular the method of determining its dimensions. |
