titleOfInvention |
Method for controlling the display of different information in a vehicle and optoacoustic information unit |
abstract |
According to the invention, the current line of vision of the driver (DRV) is continually detected and the journey-related information (NAV) is displayed almost immediately if the driver (DRV) makes visual contact with the dual-view display (DISP), whereas alternative non-journey related information (MEDIA) can be displayed during the intervals without visual contact. The current line of vision is determined by a video-based detection of the head rotation and/or eye movement of the driver (DRV), based on a static or dynamic detection method. In the evaluation step, only a binary decision (THR) is made as to whether the driver (DRV) is currently looking at the dual-view display (DISP). Conventional displays can be used in conjunction with video cameras (CAM) and simplified software. |
