abstract The invention relates to an American Blend -type tobacco mixture containing up to 70 percent by weight of Virginia tobaccos, up to 40 percent by weight of Burley tobaccos, up to 20 percent by weight of oriental tobaccos, and up to 5 percent by weight of other types of tobacco, up to 60 percent by weight of which can be provided as swelling tobacco. According to the invention, all or most of the Burley tobacco is provided as cut reconstituted tobacco foil which is obtained according to the TSNA adsorption method. Preferably, at least 60 percent by weight of the Burley tobacco of the reconstituted tobacco foil consists of lamina while the reconstituted tobacco foil is preferably obtained according to a papermaking method. The invention further relates to cigarettes containing such cut tobacco mixtures.
