A bipolar forceps for sealing tissue includes an elongated shaft (12) having opposing jaw members (110,120) at the distal end, each of the jaw members including a conductive sealing surface. The jaw members are movable to grasp tissue therebetween, and the bipolar forceps is connected to a source of electrical energy. The forceps also includes a stop member assembly having at least one non-conductive stop member (50) selective extendible to regulate the distance between the jaw members. |
