The invention relates to a smokeable planar or tubular-shaped food covering or film for food packagings, for example, sausage casings, heat-shrinkable bags or similar, made of a polymer base which is produced, initially, in a blast drawing method from a homogenous plastic melt made of a plastic mixture with at least PA (polyamide) with PVAL (polyvinyl alcohol) and PEBAX (polyether blockamide). The food covering or film is permeable to steam, amounting to at least 1 kg/m2 a day. Oxygen permeability thereof is, at a film strength, of 30 µm, less than 2.1 cm3/m2. The invention further relates to a method for the production thereof. |
