Peptides (A) that bind to the transcription factor Engrailed are new. They have sequences (A1) and (A2): Ser-Trp-Trp-Glu-Thr-Gln-Leu-Ile-Ala-Ser-Ser-Gly (A1) Trp-Ser-Trp-Asn-Glu-Glu-Val-Trp-Phe-Pro-Phe-Thr (A2) : Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) composition containing (A) and a peptide (B) that includes a transducer domain; and (2) polynucleotides that encode (A) or chimeras of (A) and (B). ACTIVITY : Neuroprotective; Antiparkinsonian. No details of tests for these activities are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Modulating activity of the Engrailed transcription factor. |
