The whole empty viral particles of the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) inducer contain all the antigenically relevant protein components in the determining IBDV virions and can be obtained by means of genetic engineering in suitable expression systems. Said capsids are useful in the production of vaccines against the avian disease called infectious bursal disease caused by IBDV and in the manufacture of gene therapy vectors. |
