titleOfInvention | Isobutene polymerisation in the presence of complexes of donor and fluor containing acid |
abstract | Described is a process for the preparation of substantially monoethylenically unsaturated isobutene polymers, wherein the sum of the proportions of α- molecules and β-double bond molecules is at least 75 mole%, by polymerization of isobutene in the liquid phase in the presence of a dissolved one or dispersed catalyst complex comprising (i) an electron donor and (ii) a compound of general formula I. H a me b [MF x ] c in which Me stands for a metal of the oxidation state m, M stands for an element of the oxidation number n selected from the elements of the group 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 13, 14 or 15 of the Periodic Table of the Elements according to IUPAC notation, a is an integer ≥ 1, b is an integer ≥ 0, x is an integer ≥ 2, c is [(a + mb) / (xn)]. A preferred catalyst is HBF 4 • O (CH 3 ) 2 . The process provides isobutene polymers with low fluorine content, even when using technical C 4 hydrocarbon cuts as Isobutenquelle. |
