abstract A method is provided for transmitting data between nodes (Ni) of a group of nodes coupled to one of the access buses (L2-LSP) of a multiple access communications network (R1). This method consists of i) whenever an input node (N2) of the group receives data intended for at least one of the other nodes of the group, to determine the number M of nodes (Ni) of this group by which the data must pass to reach its destination, including the destination node (N4), which together define a transmission path from said input node (N2), and then assign to a dedicated field that is associated with the data a value representative of the number M, before transmitting them, via the access bus, to the first node (N3) of the path, and ii) at each node (Ni) of the path, to decrement the number associated with the received data by one unit to obtain a new value of the field, and in the presence of a new value equal to a chosen comparison value, to extract the data from the path, or in the presence of a new value different from the comparison value chosen, to replace the value of the dedicated field, which is associated with the received data, by this new value, then to transmit to the next node of the path the data and the new value of the associated dedicated field.
