Effective dispersants for use in compression ignition fuels arendescribed as are compression ignition fuels containing such dispersants.nThe invention includes a fuel composition comprising: (a) ancompression-ignition internal combustion fuel; and (b) a Mannichndispersant additive formed from: (1) at least one alkyl-substitutednhydroxyaromatic compound; (2) at least one aldehyde; (3) a primary ornsecondary amine; wherein the molar ratio of the alkyl-substitutednhydroxyaromatic compound to the aldehyde is in the range of from 1:1.25nto about 1:2; and wherein the molar ratio of the alkyl-substitutednhydroxyaromatic compound to the amine is in the range of from aboutn1:1.25 to about 1:2. |
