titleOfInvention Music reproducing apparatus, music reproducing method and telephone terminal device
abstract In a music reproducing apparatus, a timbre data memorynhas a limited capacity for storing timbre data correspondingnto a first number of timbres, which is less than a secondnnumber of timbres reserved in a data source. An interfacencan be operated to transfer the timbre data from the datansource to the timbre data memory so that the timbre datanmemory stores the transferred timbre data. A score datanmemory stores score data representing a music piece. A tonengenerator is set with a tone generating parameter derivednfrom the score data stored in the score data memory forngenerating tones of the music piece. A performancencontroller interprets the score data to read out timbre datandesignated by the score data from the timbre data memory fornsetting the tone generator with the read timbre data so thatnthe tone generator can generate the tones having timbresnspecified by the score data. Further, a memory monitorndetects when a vacant area is created in a limited space ofnthe score data memory upon sequential retrieval of the scorendata for operating the interface to load another part of thenscore data into the vacant area, thereby enabling the tonengenerator to continue the generating of the tones of thenmusic piece.
