A method for manufacturing an active-matrix organic EL display in which an organic EL layer is formed through an inkjet system wherein a liquid containing a material for the organic EL layer is ejected as a droplet (12) from an ejection orifice of a nozzle. An electrostatic inkjet apparatus (15) having an ejection orifice (1b) whose diameter is smaller than that of the droplet (12) is used. The organic EL layer is formed by ejecting droplets from a nozzle of the inkjet apparatus (15), and the volume of one droplet is 1 pl or less. Consequently, a landed droplet becomes dry quickly and movement of the droplet after landing is suppressed. Therefore, an organic EL layer can be formed accurately at low cost. |
