The nut provided with an edible coating comprises a nut and, at least, a layernof coating for said nut which includes an edible film, said film comprising annedible compound selected from the group formed of hydroxypropylmethylncellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose,nethylmethyl cellulose, acacia gum, maltodextrin, a lipid or a combination ofnvarious lipids, and their mixtures. The edible coating acts as a protection thatnextends the useful life of the nut and, potentially, also serves as a carrier fornadditives that alter the original features of the nut. |
