abstract | This invention relates to modified GLP-1 receptor agonists comprising a GLP-1 receptor agonist linked to a polyethylene glycol polymer having a molecule weight of greater than 30 kD, and related formulations and dosages and methods of administration thereof for therapeutic purposes are provided. More particularly, these modified GLP-1 receptor agonists, compositions and methods are useful in providing a treatment option for those individuals afflicted with a metabolic disorder such as diabetes and prediabetic states such as impaired glucose tolerance, and impaired fasting glucose, by inducing glucose-dependent insulin secretion, without reducing gastrointestinal motility. |
