In addition, the present invention provides anmethod for producing a modified substrate including a stepnof irradiating the substrate with radiation while thensubstrate is brought into contact with an aqueous solutionncontaining a hydrophilic polymer and an antioxidant. Thenpresent invention provides a modified substrate having highnhematologic compatibility wherein the hydrophilic polymer isnimmobilized on the surface of the substrate, and a methodnfor producing the same.
