titleOfInvention | Use of collagenase in the preparation of neural stem cell cultures |
abstract | The present invention discloses a method for the in vitro proliferation of a neural stemncell culture, which method excludes the proliferation of human embryonic stem cells, nsaid method comprising the steps of: (a) culturing a cell suspension containing one ornmore multipotent neural stem cells capable of producing progeny that are capable ofndifferentiating into neurons and glia in a culture medium containing at least onenproliferation-inducing growth factor to proliferate the neural stem cells to generate anneural stem cell culture; and (b) passaging the cell culture in (a) by treating the culturenwith an amount of a collagenase preparation effective to dissociate the cells in the culturenand passing the cell culture to a culture medium containing at least one proliferation-inducingngrowth factor to further proliferate the neural stem cell culture. |
