abstract | It is an object of the present invention to provide recording ink,nwhich has superior storage stability, in which discharge stability,nparticularly discharge stability during continuous discharge or afternstopping discharge is improved, and with which a high image quality withnlittle blur can be obtained and the like. The recording ink of the presentninvention is recording ink, in which a coloring agent, a surfactant, anpenetrant, and a defoaming agent are contained; 3.0 × 10 7 (quantity/5 µl)nor less coarse particles having a particle diameter of 0.5 µm or more arencontained; and an amount of particle having a particle diameter of from 1nµm to under 5 µm in the coarse particle is 1% by number or less. Annembodiment in which the coloring agent is a pigment, which has at leastnone kind of a hydrophilic group, and shows at least one of waterndispersibility and water solubility in the absence of a dispersing agent; annembodiment in which the surfactant is at least one kind of surfactantnselected from polyoxy ethylene alkyl ether surfactants and polyoxynethylene alkyl ether acetate surfactants; an embodiment in which thenpenetrant is at least one of 2, 2, 4- trimethyl-1, 3-pentane diol andn2-ethyl-1, 3-hexane diol; an embodiment in which the defoaming agent isnselected from silicone defoaming agents and the like are preferable. |
