titleOfInvention A method and apparatus for predicting the presence of haemostatic dysfunction in a patient sample
abstract A method is disclosed for predicting the presence of haemostatic dysfunction in anpatient from at least one time-dependent measurement profile. The methodncomprises performing at least one time-dependent measurement on an unknownnsample and measuring a respective property over time so as to derive a time-dependentnmeasurement profile. The method also comprises computing the slope ofnthe time-dependent measurement profile prior to clot formation and detecting a biphasicnwaveform in the time-dependent measurement profile based on the computed slope.nThe presence of haemostatic dysfunction in the patient is predicted based on thendetected biphasic waveform.
