abstract |
The object of the invention is to provide an alkalinprimary battery being excellent in high rate dischargencharacteristics with less increase of the inner pressure byngenerating hydrogen in the overdischarge process. n The invention provides a sealed nickel zinc primarynbattery comprising at least a positive electrode having anhigher oxide of nickel as a positive electrode activensubstance, a negative electrode having zinc or an alloynthereof as a negative electrode active substance, anseparator and an electrolyte solution housed in a vessel,nwherein manganese dioxide is added in a proportion of 3 ton7% by mass relative to the higher oxide of nickel in thenpositive electrode, and the ratio between the theoreticalncapacity of the negative electrode to the theoreticalncapacity of the positive electrode (the theoreticalncapacity of the negative electrode/theoretical capacity ofnthe positive electrode) is in the range of 1.2 to 1.0. |
